First meeting of Central Asian Women in Mathematics Association (CAWMA)

22 - 23 September 2016

International Information Technology University, Almaty, Kazakhstan

The conference introduced the main goals and objectives of CAWMA. The main scientific theme was Mathematics and Mechanics. There were 36 participants from 19 universities with four Central Asian countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,Tajikistan and Uzbekistan represented. Women in Mathematics in Latin America: Barriers, Advancements and New Perspectives

Oaxaca, Mexico.

Hosted by the Casa Matemática Oaxaca in collaboration with the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery.

The meeting gathered women in mathematics having leadership positions in order to propose action plans for the balance inclusion of women in education in particular as academic mathematicians. Latin American Women in Mathematics

July 11-15 2016. Barranquilla, Colombia. 

 

The meeting was held during the Fifth Latin American Congress of Mathematics. The aim was to establish a network of women mathematicians in the region. Here is a YouTube video of the event. Further discussions are underway about forming a Latin American network.

The first meeting of the Association for Women in Mathematics in Senegal

and the first meeting of AWMA for the Western African region. July 7-8, 2016 at AIMS-Senegal.

Indian Women and Mathematics: Annual Conference

June 29 - July 1, 2016.

University of Hyderabad, India.

This conference brought together women students, college and university teachers and early-career researchers with mathematicians, especially women mathematicians to exchange mathematical ideas and share their views.
A major goal was to enable junior women mathematicians to interact with their senior colleagues, both individually and in small groups, as well as to present their work. Nalini Joshi was a distinguished visitor.

First meeting of the Tunisian Women Mathematicians Association

Indian Women and Mathematics: Regional workshop on Research and Opportunities
